NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Brian Schaefering, DT, Lindenwood
4/25/08.  Brian Schaefering, DT from Lindenwood, sat down and talked about the upcoming NFL Draft.


What is your accurate height, weight and forty time?

Brian Schaefering:  
My height is 6'5" and I weigh 288 lbs. I run between a 4.85-4.95.

Describe your game in three words or less.
Brian Schaefering:  
Smart, Aggressive, heart

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a football player and what area do you feel you need to improve in?
Brian Schaefering:  
My greatest strength would be I have a nose for the ball, and I need to work on my overall speed

What NFL player do you do you think you compare favorably to? 
Brian Schaefering:  
I think I compare to Seymour of the patriots

Who is the best player you have faced during your college football career?
Brian Schaefering: Antwan Randle El

 What is your greatest football moment to date?
Brian Schaefering:  
When we won the big ten in 2001, and my first college sack against Wisconsin.

Did you have a favorite pro team growing up?  Favorite player?
Brian Schaefering:  
My favorite team growing up was the Pittsburgh Steelers, and my favorite player was Mean Joe Greene

How instrumental was your head coach Patrick Ross in your progression?
Brian Schaefering: 
My head coach Patrick Ross was very important in my progression even though I was only there for one year he did everything in his power to help mold me into a better football player and a better man.

What have former college teammates now in the NFL told you about preparing for the league?
Brian Schaefering: 
Former teammates have told me get in the best shape possible and be the hardest working guy around.  That the league is big and fast and you either adapt or get pushed aside.

When you get your first professional paycheck what is the first thing you will buy?
Brian Schaefering:  
With my first check I will probably not buy anything I will pay off some school loans and save the rest now the second check is a different story.

How will you be preparing for the NFL Draft?
Brian Schaefering:  
Working as hard as I can to get better at the little things and get mentally prepared for the journey ahead of me.


What is the one thing you will most miss at college?
Brian Schaefering: 
The absence of all the adult responsibility.

Where is the best place to get a bite to eat in your college town?
Brian Schaefering:  
Chicago Taste

What was your favorite college course and why?
Brian Schaefering: 
Any science class because they tend to be more hands on.

Any pregame rituals?  Food?  Music?
Brian Schaefering:  
For breakfast I have to have a waffle and spaghetti.

What is something football fans may not know about you?
Brian Schaefering:
Fans may not know that I am an outdoors person I hate to be in the house.

Do you read mock drafts or listen to what draft experts have to say?
Brian Schaefering:
I do read mock drafts and listen to draft experts but just for fun because no one really knows who's going where until it happens 

What was the last good movie you saw?
Brian Schaefering: 
Why did I get Married

What do you plan to do once your playing career is over?
Brian Schaefering:  
When I am done playing I want to be in law enforcement.
