Addai at four is a steal and is really the end of the
"No-brainer" RB selections to start the draft, with guys like LJ and
Steven Jackson immersed in doubt for various reasons. Aside from
averaging 11.5 TDs per year over the last two years, Addai has also
caught 40+ passes in each of his first two years in the league, making
him even more attractive in PPR leagues. |

Lewis, Jamal CLE RB |
In 2007 Lewis' 1,551 total yards and 11 total touchdowns
were a nice surprise for fantasy owners who typically selected him in
round three and beyond. Lewis averaged 4.4 ypc (Highest since 2003) and
showed the unique blend of speed and power that made him a special back
in the first place. The Browns offensive line, anchored by rookie Joe
Thomas and free agent addition Eric Steinbach, played great in 2007 and
will only become more cohesive heading into 2008 should the Browns be
able to retain Free Agent Lewis. |

Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR |
The Quiet Bengal, Houshmandzadeh's fantasy value finally
exceeded that of big mouth teammate "Ocho Sucko" in 2007. TJ tied Wes
Welker for the NFL lead in receptions while posting career highs in
catches, yards and TDs. Even w/o Johnson next year as some are
speculating, the Bengals offense will still be pass oriented and TJ
would then be elevated to the role of #1 WR. Hard to pass up Colston or
Steve Smith here, but TJ wins out. |

Romo, Tony DAL QB |
Getting Romo in essentially the 5th round is worth passing
up much needed WR depth for, especially when you consider that Donald
Driver is the best remaining WR on the board. Say what you will about
Romo's love of hot blondes and how it impacted his play, but from weeks
8 to 12 it was guaranteed he would throw nearly 4 TDs a game (he also
averaged 300 yards per game from weeks 1 thru 5.) Production like that
from the QB position is enough for me to pass on the aging Driver on
the downside of his career. |

Gonzalez, Tony KCC TE |
This was a tough pick because I had to select between the
last of the tier 2 and entering tier 3 WR (Ward or Driver) or select
the final tier TE 1 on the board. Even in a horrible offense with shaky
QB play, Gonzalez put up 99 receptions 1,100+ yards and 5 TD. |

Galloway, Joey TBB WR |
This pick came down between two of the last #1 WR's on the
board; Lee Evans and Joey Galloway. While both receivers are capable of
a one catch, 7 yard performance they are also equally capable of
turning in a 6 catch, 120 yard, 1 TD day the following week. Feast or
famine indeed! A boom or bust pick, but even at his age Galloway is
still one of the fastest WR's in the NFL. Many of us thought he was
dead after 2004 and he has responded with three consecutive 1,000+ yard
seasons. Also, 8 catches of over 40+ yards in 2007 was a career high,
showing he still isn't slowing down. |

With the run on WR over the last round or so I probably
shouldve gone WR with my 7th round pick. But something about seeing
"Fragile" Fred Taylor sitting there all by himself like a friendless
high school student in the cafeteria screamed "Value Pick" to me. With
Romo at QB, selecting Crayton as my 3rd WR became easier to do here. I
was hoping Jamey would overlook S. Moss right before me, but it didnt
happen. Derrick Mason is on the board here as well, but the QB/coaching
situation in Baltimore is a mess right now. Plus he is old. Crayton it
is. |

I tried not to pick him, but to get a #1 WR coming off of a
100+, 1,000+ yard, 5 TD season in the 9th round works for me. There are
plenty of questions surrounding who will play QB for him, but last year
Mason excelled despite catching passes from three different QB's. |

Garrard had 12 TD in his final six games after recovering
from an ankle injury. Project that over a full season and your looking
at #1 QB type numbers from your backup QB. |

By the looks of this draft, Jackson has fallen out of favor
with Fantasy Draftniks after a disappointing '07 season where many had
him pegged as a can't miss fantasy stud. During the regular season
Jackson was certainly a bust, but in three games during the playoffs
Jackson averaged six recs, exactly 100 yards per game and scored two
TDs. |
