NFL Draft - Paul Kruger Scouting Report
by Clint

NFL Draft
Analyst
Prospect: Paul Kruger, DE,
Utah
Ht: 6'4 Wt: 263 40: 4.83
Strengths:
He has an amazing motor. He rarely\never gives up on plays.
He pursues very well. Uses his hands effectively. Good,
consistent tackler. He has great size. Plays with great instincts
and can find the football fast. He has good awareness. He
is a well rounded prospect. He has good work ethic and is a good
leader. He is 23 years old and is very mature compared to the
average NFL rookie.
Weaknesses: Durability concerns. He has been stabbed in a fight
(protecting a friend) and lost a kidney in a traffic accident. He
needs to improve his first step off the football. His agility is
not a threat to other teams. Arms are not that long.
Summary:
Paul Kruger is a defensive end that is very well rounded. He
plays good against the run as well as has the ability to rush the
passer. I see him as a pure 4-3 defensive end, however, some see
him as a rush 3-4 OLB. He will need learn coverage skills as well
as transition to a new position if he will be asked to play in the 3-4
defensive system. Kruger will need to spend time in the weight
room as well as improve techniques; but I see him as being a good
reliable player for many years to come.
Draft Projection:
2nd-early 3rd
