Why a Ranking System?
by Michael Abromowitz

At TheFootballExpert.com we want to give our readers the best quality football information available.  The past four years, our mock draft database has been an extremely popular page for visitors.  Prior to last year, our method for posting the mock drafts had always been to post the updated ones at top and the least updated on the bottom.  However, we feel that this encourages sites to update their mock very often, taking away from the in depth analysis and decision making that so many draft analysts do including the ones on this site.  A mock draft updated daily does not really show a person’s expertise.  Our main aim for doing this was to promote draft analysts like Scott Wright of NFLDraftCountdown.com who spend numerous hours on their mock drafts, and only update them occasionally because of that.  Our system rewards the visitors with the opportunity to visit some of our favorite mock drafts on the internet.  We encourage visitors to continue viewing all the mock drafts on the database.

This list is not set in stone.  Other mock drafts have an opportunity to crack the list.  We hope this ranking system helps raise the bar in mock draft quality.  All the mock drafts on the database will continually be updated.

Writers ranked the mock drafts based on analysis, expertise, and how often the draft is updated.
