RBs at the Combine, Some Thoughts

J.J. Arrington- Arrington helped his stock with a 4.45.  He looked very good in position drills which I think will boost him to mid 3rd round.

Cedric Benson- I think Benson hurt his draft status by working out at the combine.  Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams may have pushed ahead of him on the board by running excellent 40s.  Benson will have an excellent workout at Texas..

Nehemiah Broughton- The FB from the Citadel ran a 4.51 and 4.48.  With his size and speed, he will be an intriguing player for any team.  His speed could make him a RB, and a very dominant RB at that.  Should go around the 3rd round.

Ronnie Brown- Brown may have jumped to the top RB spot with his outstanding combine display.  He ran a best of 4.32, which is unbelievable for a 230 pound back.  Also he had a great positional workout.

Maurice Clarett- Clarett has dug himself into a hole with his poor 40 times of 4.7 and 4.8.  It also did not walking off the field after learning his times and not continuing the workouts.  He did look more cut then last year standing at 234 pounds.  He looks no more then a 6th rounder.

Brandon Jacobs- Jacobs stood at 6-4 267 and still managed to run under a 4.6 which is outstanding for that size.  Jacobs helped his stock with the 40.

<>T.A. McLendon- McLendon hurt his stock with his sub par 40 times.  He ran a 4.71 which was close to the end of the bunch.  McLendon was thought to <>be a top 10 back, but now he may have dropped a couple spots.

Darren Sproles ran a 4.5 which is not a bad time.  He stood at only 5-6 which hurt him a little, but looked good in the positional workouts.

Cadillac Williams- Williams is just around dead even with Ronnie Brown.  Both ran great 40, and did well in positional drills.  It will be interesting to see who goes first.
