NFL Draft - Ron Brace Scouting Report
by Clint
Clearwater
NFL Draft
Analyst
Prospect: Ron Brace, DT,
Boston College
Ht:
6’3 Wt: 330 40: 5.47
Strengths:
Very big and strong. He did 32 reps of 225 lbs at the
combine. He is a tremendous run-stopper. He can hold his
ground and stand up linemen to locate the football. Uses hands
very well, and can break free from linemen. At times, Brace can
simply dominate the offensive line.
Weaknesses:
Very raw technique. Not very fast or quick and often loses his
balance. Not a pass rusher at all. He needs to improve his
endurance. Brace could have looked better than he actually is
because at Boston College he played along side of B.J. Raji who is a
top 10 prospect.
Summary: Ron
Brace has the physical body to be a powerful force in the NFL. He
is huge. However, Brace lacks elite athleticism. He is very
raw and needs to be developed. He can play in the 4-3 or 3-4
systems (in which he has the most value). Although Brace needs to
improve, with hard work he has the potential to be a solid 3-4 nose
tackle in the NFL; which is a commodity in the NFL
today.
Draft Projection:
2nd round
