Analyst
Prospect: Tyson Jackson, DE,
LSU
Ht: 6'4 Wt: 296 40: 4.94
Strengths:
Great size and strength. Tremendous against the run.
Jackson has a great initial burst. He has long arms and he uses
his hands very effectively. Able to stand up lineman and locate
the football. Stellar instincts and has really good
reactions. Makes good tackles. He rarely gives up on plays.
He has a lot of experience and has played against great
competition. Good leader. Can play in either a 4-3 or 3-4
defense as a defensive end.
Weaknesses: Not a pass rusher. Needs to improve his ability to
come around the edge. He is inconsistent when it comes to
shedding blockers. Not the most athletic defensive end. His
awareness is not the best and could be improved with coaching. He
has a questionable motor.
Summary: Tyson
Jackson is a
prospect that will likely be off the board by pick #20.
He is very versatile DE and can play multiple
positions along the defensive front in any system.
He is a great leader with a monstrous ability
to stop the run. Jackson will not be the
most well-rounded prospect on the board, however he posses something
that
cannot be taught, experience.
